West Philadelphia Rapper Opens Daycare Center to Help Low-Income Families and Give Children a Brighter Future
#NOLAZINE – West Philadelphia rapper and entrepreneur Anthony “Dappa” Samuels is proving that making a difference in the community goes far beyond music. Instead of focusing solely on his career in entertainment, Samuels has turned his attention toward helping families by providing affordable childcare and educational opportunities for children in underserved neighborhoods.
Samuels is the co-owner of Young With Options Academic Center, an early childhood education facility created to support working parents and low-income families who may struggle to find quality childcare. Originally established in West Philadelphia, the center eventually expanded into Northeast Philadelphia, allowing the organization to serve even more families.
What makes Young With Options Academic Center unique is its commitment to helping children discover their creativity at an early age. In addition to traditional learning, the center introduces students to music, poetry, acting, and dance. These activities encourage children to build confidence, express themselves, and develop skills that can benefit them throughout their lives.
For Samuels, this business venture is about more than generating revenue. Growing up in West Philadelphia helped shape his journey, and he understands the importance of investing in the next generation. By creating a safe and educational environment, he hopes to give children opportunities that can positively impact their futures.
“I love being able to be there and be hands-on,” Samuels shared. “I take a lot of pride in that, and it actually helps me with music and in life.”
His story is another example of how artists can use their influence and entrepreneurial spirit to create meaningful change. While many people recognize rappers for their music, Samuels is building a legacy through education, community development, and helping families who need additional support.
Anthony “Dappa” Samuels is showing that real success isn’t just about how much money you make, but how many lives you can positively impact along the way.
