Serena Williams Honored With New Barbie Doll Inspired by Her Iconic 2005 Australian Open Victory

#NOLAZINE - Tennis legend Serena Williams is being celebrated with a special Barbie doll inspired by one of the most memorable moments of her legendary career — her 2005 Australian Open championship victory.
Released by Mattel as part of its Barbie Signature collection, the $45 collectible recreates Serena’s unforgettable green-and-white tennis outfit, complete with a matching sweatband, tennis shoes, racket, and tennis ball. The look pays tribute to the tournament where Williams captured her seventh Grand Slam singles title.
The doll celebrates much more than a championship. As a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, Serena Williams has broken barriers, inspired generations, and helped change the face of women’s sports.
Launched in celebration of International Day of the Girl, the Barbie also supports the company’s Dream Gap Project, which helps create educational and leadership opportunities for young girls.
For Serena, the honor represents another opportunity to inspire young Black girls to believe in themselves, chase their dreams, and understand that greatness has no limits.
From dominating tennis courts around the world to becoming a Barbie doll, Serena Williams continues to prove that her impact reaches far beyond sports.
Do y’all think Serena Williams is the greatest female tennis player of all time?
