#NOLAZINE - Tyler Perry’s hit Netflix drama Beauty in Black is officially back, and Season 3 has already given fans plenty to talk about.

Netflix released the eight-episode third season on August 27, 2026, bringing viewers back into the complicated and dangerous world of the Bellarie family. This time around, Kimmie is no longer simply fighting to survive—she finally has real power, and that changes everything.

For those who have followed the series from the beginning, Kimmie’s transformation has been one of the biggest parts of the story. Played by Taylor Polidore Williams, Kimmie started out as a dancer struggling to escape a difficult situation before becoming connected to the wealthy Bellarie family and their Beauty in Black hair-care empire.

By Season 3, Kimmie has money, influence and a position within the company that would have seemed impossible when viewers first met her.

But having power and keeping power are two completely different things.

Kimmie and Mallory Have Changed the Game

One of the most interesting developments has been the relationship between Kimmie and Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart.

The two women spent much of the series on opposite sides, but circumstances have pushed them into an unlikely alliance. Season 3 picks up following their major power move against members of the Bellarie family, with several enemies facing serious legal trouble.

Of course, this is Beauty in Black.

Nobody stays comfortable for long.

Season 3 dives even deeper into blackmail, revenge, family secrets, betrayals and the battle for control of the Bellarie empire. Netflix describes the season as a family war that threatens to bring everything the Bellaries built crashing down.

Fans Are Already Debating Season 3

The interesting thing about Beauty in Black is that people don't just watch the show—they talk about it.

Season 3 has been no different.

Some viewers have enjoyed the nonstop drama and unexpected twists, while others have criticized certain performances, storylines and some of the show's over-the-top moments. Early audience reactions online have been noticeably mixed, although even some viewers criticizing aspects of the series admit that it remains entertaining.

And maybe that's part of Tyler Perry's formula.

Beauty in Black doesn't necessarily try to be quiet or subtle. The show is filled with characters making questionable decisions, family members turning against each other and situations becoming more outrageous just when viewers think things can't get any crazier.

Yet people continue watching.

The numbers from the previous seasons help explain why Netflix continues investing in the series. According to Tyler Perry's official website, Season 1 spent seven weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 28 countries, while Season 2 spent six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 17 countries.

And Season 4 Is Already Coming

Fans who finish Season 3 won't have to wonder whether this is the end of the Bellarie family's story.

Netflix has already confirmed Beauty in Black for Season 4.

That means Tyler Perry still has more drama planned for Kimmie, Mallory and everybody caught in the battle surrounding the Beauty in Black empire.

Whether you believe Season 3 is the best season yet or think the series needs to switch things up, one thing is clear: Beauty in Black has become one of those shows that gets social media talking.

Now we want to hear from y'all.
