In the vibrant and storied hip-hop landscape of New Orleans, a fresh new voice is making waves—Moskino, the latest artist to emerge from the Westbank's legendary neighborhood of Algiers. A longtime friend of rap star Rob49, Moskino is now signed to Rob’s independent label Vulture Mode, and he’s already proving he’s more than just a co-sign.
Moskino’s journey into music began unexpectedly during a beach break. While Rob49 and the crew took a breather from the studio, Moskino stayed back with the producer and decided to try something new. They cooked up a track and played it for Rob and the rest of the team when they returned. The room went wild. No one even knew he rapped—but from that moment on, it was clear he had something special.
Fast forward to today, Moskino is no longer the surprise of the session—he's the one dropping heat consistently.
In just a short time, the Algiers native has released several attention-grabbing tracks, including “Social Stunts,” “Off The Drugs,” “Raindrops,” and “DJANGO.” His delivery is raw, energetic, and filled with a hunger that only comes from someone who’s lived and breathed the city’s struggles and triumphs. Though he’s only been rapping for about a year, his output and lyrical quality reflect the work ethic of a seasoned artist.
Algiers has always been a cornerstone of New Orleans’ musical DNA, and with Rob49 paving the way and building his Vulture Mode brand, it’s only fitting that Moskino, someone who grew up with him, is helping carry the torch.
Keep your eyes on this rising talent as he continues to put on for The Big Easy with every track he drops. Follow Moskino on Instagram @moskinoe and stay tapped in with what could be the next breakout star from the city that birthed legends.
