North London’s own Ruby Francis is once again making waves in the world of soulful music with the release of her new album, Pages of Philosophy. Known for her boundary-pushing sound that blends 2000s R&B, neo-soul, and jazz, Ruby continues to evolve artistically with this stunning project. More than just a singer and songwriter, Ruby is also a producer and DJ—a multi-talented force who brings an unmistakable authenticity to everything she touches.
Pages of Philosophy is a reflection of Ruby's growth both as an artist and a human being. The album showcases her signature sound—lush chords, jazzy grooves, and smooth vocals—while diving deeper into themes of self-reflection, emotion, and personal philosophy. The release follows a creative waterfall strategy that includes instrumental and remix versions, providing listeners with multiple layers to explore.
Ruby’s musical journey started early. Raised in a rich sonic environment, she drew inspiration from legends like Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Björk, and production pioneers The Neptunes. She began learning piano at age 10 and producing her own tracks by her early teens, which laid the foundation for her genre-fluid sound today.
Her previous album Archives—which she self-produced—has already surpassed a million streams on Spotify and featured collaborations with Grammy Award-winning Blue Lab Beats and Grammy-nominated vocalist Laura Roy. Ruby has also graced stages at major UK festivals like Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, and Latitude (BBC Introducing), and has had the honor of supporting soul-jazz legend Roy Ayers at the Jazz Cafe.
Beyond her solo work, Ruby’s music has been featured in commercial syncs with The Body Shop, Spotify’s "Nailing It" podcast, and Starz' TV series Run the World. As a DJ, she curates soulful sets that echo her deep connection to the roots of R&B, soul, and jazz.
With Pages of Philosophy, Ruby Francis continues to push musical boundaries while staying true to the essence of soulful storytelling. Nylon has described her as “the British answer to The Internet,” and this new album proves she’s more than worthy of the title.
