Meet Evan Jupiter: The Baton Rouge Entrepreneur Turning a Bad Grillz Experience Into a Growing Custom Jewelry Brand

#NOLAZINE - BATON ROUGE, LA — Sometimes the best business ideas are born from realizing that customers deserve something better. For Baton Rouge entrepreneur Evan Jupiter, one disappointing experience purchasing grillz locally became the motivation behind creating his own company, Fast Lane Grillz.

Founded in late 2022, Fast Lane Grillz was created with a straightforward mission: provide customers with premium-quality custom grillz, dependable service, and strong craftsmanship without making luxury inaccessible.

Jupiter says the idea came after he personally experienced problems while purchasing grillz in Baton Rouge. Rather than simply accepting the experience, he saw an opportunity.

He believed there was room in the city for a business that could raise the standard while still serving the everyday customer.

From Commercial Diving to Custom Grillz

At the time, Jupiter was working in commercial diving, a demanding career that could experience slower periods. He initially started Fast Lane Grillz as a side business during one of those slow seasons.

What began as an additional source of income soon developed into something much bigger.

Word began spreading throughout Baton Rouge. Customers told other customers, and the brand started gaining support from college athletes, music artists, and members of the local community.

Instead of depending solely on traditional advertising, Fast Lane Grillz grew largely through its reputation and word of mouth.

That growth has resulted in a major milestone: more than 400 custom sets produced since the company launched.

The Meaning Behind “Fast Lane”

The company’s name also has a personal connection to Jupiter’s life.

Growing up, his mother would often tell him that he was constantly “living life in the fast lane.”

Rather than running away from that description, Jupiter eventually transformed it into the identity of his business.

Fast Lane became more than a name—it represented his personality, ambition, hustle, and willingness to move quickly when opportunities presented themselves.

Today, that phrase that once described his lifestyle is attached to a growing Baton Rouge brand.

Building Beyond Baton Rouge

While Baton Rouge remains home, Jupiter’s vision for Fast Lane Grillz extends beyond the city.

The custom jewelry and grillz market has become increasingly connected to hip-hop, sports, fashion, and youth culture. For an independent company like Fast Lane Grillz, that creates an opportunity to build relationships with customers far outside Louisiana.

But as the company expands, Jupiter says the foundation remains the same: quality and accessibility.

Fast Lane Grillz isn’t simply trying to sell jewelry. The company wants customers to receive craftsmanship and service that make them confident about what they’re purchasing.

Producing more than 400 sets in just a few years demonstrates how quickly a frustrating personal experience can become an entrepreneurial opportunity when someone recognizes a problem and decides to solve it.

For Evan Jupiter, what began during the slow season of another career is steadily developing into a brand of its own.

And considering the name, Fast Lane Grillz doesn’t appear interested in slowing down anytime soon.
