#NOLAZINE - 13 Years Later: Larry Morrow Is Ready To Reopen Larry’s Poboys

In 2013, Larry’s Poboys & Wings closed just 6 months after opening. At the time, Larry only had about five employees, and when the doors closed, he felt embarrassed — like a complete failure.

Looking back, he admits he was young, undisciplined, and more focused on running the streets than running a business. The timing simply wasn’t right.

But that loss changed everything.

After shutting down the restaurant, Larry made a complete 180° in his life. He started working out, cut back on alcohol, stopped eating meat, and became fully focused on his grind. He poured his energy into producing events, stacking money, and rebuilding himself mentally and financially.

That setback became the foundation for something much bigger.

Fast forward to today:

• In 2018, Larry Morrow and his team opened Morrow’s

• In 2021, they opened Tree House

• In 2022, Monday Restaurant followed

• In 2023, Sun Chong was added to the growing empire

• And now, Morrow Steak plus two more concepts are on the way

What started as a failed restaurant with five employees has now turned into a business movement employing hundreds of people — with another 250–300 jobs expected to be added in the coming months.

MORROW OF THE STORY:

Never stop.

Sometimes life feels like you’re off track, but in reality, you may be headed exactly where you’re supposed to be.
